Dr. Bray and Dr. Pfund have been Orthodontists in the
South Jersey area for over 25 years. Both Dr. Bray and Dr. Pfund are
Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, as well as licensed
by
the State of New Jersey with a Specialty License to practice orthodontics.
They both attended dental school and then continued their education by
attending a special orthodontic program for two years. This special training
certifies
both Dr. Bray and Dr. Pfund to be orthodontists.
Dr. Bray has two children, Ryan and Michael. Dr. Pfund is married with
one son. Christine, his wife, is a part time practicing hygienist
and is active in several volunteer community organizations involving
the hospital and the local school system. Grant, his son, is entering
his first year of high school at St. Augustine Prep. He is involved
in many activities keeping his parents very busy. Traveling and outdoor
activities are their favorite past times.
Education
Dr. Bray graduated from University of Dayton with a
Bachelor in Science. He then attended the University of Maryland School of
Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Science. He continues
on from Maryland
to Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York to obtain his Certificate
of Orthodontics and his Masters in Science from the University of Rochester.
Dr.
Pfund graduated with a B.A. Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in his
hometown. He then graduated from Temple University Dental School earning
his D.D.S. Degree, served in a hospital residency at the Delaware Medical
Center,
then enrolled in the Temple Orthodontic specialty program becoming a Diplomat
of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Both doctors are Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists.
Orthodontic Community
Dr. Bray is very active in the orthodontic community, as well as his local
community. He is Past-President of the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists
(MASO) and was elected Trustee to the American Association of Orthodontists
(AAO). He has been affiliated with both MASO and the AAO for many years, and
is involved in numerous Annual Sessions and Orthodontic Meetings. He is a
member of the American Dental Association (ADA) as well as a founding member
of the American Lingual Orthodontic Association. He is a member of the Edward
T. Angle Society and was Treasurer of the Atlantic Cape May County Dental
Society for 20 years.
Dr. Bray is an Associate Professor at the Temple University Orthodontic School,
where he teaches the residents in the orthodontic program. He is also a visiting
Professor at the Eastman Dental School of Rochester.
Dr. Pfund is an active member of the local dental society and the regional
Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics (MASO) society. He has served both
organizations at various levels over the years.
Local Community
In South Jersey, Dr. Bray is on the Board of Directors at Shore Memorial
Hospital and a member of the Stainton Society Memorial Fund. He is an Executive
Board and Council Member of the Boy Scouts of America as well as the American
Red Cross. Dr. Bray is a Trustee for the Brigantine Yacht Club, where he is
also a member.
Dr. Bray and Dr. Pfund support many events for children in the community.
They hold annual skating parties for patients and their friends, as well as
school programs that teach the children the importance of good oral hygiene.
The doctors sponsor seminars for children and their families on the importance
of good study habits and techniques for getting good grades. Dr. Bray and
Dr. Pfund also sponsor lectures on advice and steps for getting into college.
Receiving a good education is the main focus of the events Dr. Bray and Dr.
Pfund choose to sponsor, since they realize the importance of an education
for children. Dr. Pfund's service in the community has focused on children's
groups and the local school system. He is coach of soccer and baseball, the
director of the T-ball league, assists with the boy scouts, and is involved
with the local foundation for education. Dr. Pfund serves on the Board of
Education for Somers Point. |
